I went to the Farmer's Market the other day. I liked going there. They don't have a lot of produce. There are 2 produce sellers and the rest of the 15 or so vendors sell ready-to-eat food like salsa, bread, pickles, ice cream, pop corn, pastries, green chile, burritos, burgers, gyros, dog bath product, Mary Kay. Hang on, the dog bath product and Mary Kay are clearly not edible, which makes me wonder why they are at the Farmer's Market.
To each their own, I suppose.
The weather was good. A bit warm - we reached 90 degrees - but at 9 AM it was still a nice 70 degrees :).
I got a good variety this time. Some asparagus, potatoes, a couple of zucchini, tomatoes (a must!), cucumber, and garlic.
Total damage: $8.50. Not bad!
These asparagus looks so fresh and yummy!
I didn't get any bell peppers this time, but they look so pretty.
On the way to the car I smell some fragrant flowers. After some investigation, I found out that it's this one.
I have no idea what it is, but it is so pretty and fragrant!
Your outing looks like a lot of fun. When I organized an arts and crafts show, we made it very clear, the vendor must have created the product being sold - we'd still get Mary Kay and Tupperware wanting a spot.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog. I think your photos look gorgeous already. I'm surprised these weren't taken with a dslr!
ReplyDeleteReally great photos! I love farmers' markets!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOOOVEEEEE the new look and see how nice those pictures look nice and big - vertical rocks! Are you holding out on me and got your new camera??? or has LR finally been conquered?
ReplyDeleteThe farmer's market looks very scenic. Much more attractive than our industrial shed of a farmer's market. And you have such beautiful photos of lovely things (vegetables - big fan). On the flowers - could they be lilacs? Lilacs have the most amazing scent - really rich and sweet, and they are a kind of pale purple (lilac) and the flower is like a little bunch of flowers (like a bouquet). If you pick them, they don't last very long.
